The factory intake is very limiting, as the engine must draw in air through the 90 degree curved intake pipe, restrictive air box and paper panel filter. The intake is designed in such a way in order to limit noise but unfortunately lowers the volumetric efficiency of the motor. There is:
The circular LF1 and LLT MAF cartridges will simply slot into the adapter included with the OTR which is pictured below. This adapter relocates the MAF between the throttle body and the OTR. This adapter will NOT suit later model LFX and LFW equipped commodores so please choose carefully (OTR to suit these motors are featured in another ad). If unsure, feel free to contact us. Wed, 05 Jan 2011Ford Model T climbs Ben Nevis in 1911 (click for full size image) When the good Mr Clarkson decided Top Gear should do a piece about a Land Rover Discovery using its incredible off-road abilities to climb a mountain in Scotland we were all astonished that – despite a couple of hiccups on the way – he managed to get one of Land Rover’s finest up a mountain where cars were never designed to go. What’s even more astonishing is that Ford managed to do the same 100 years go, but they used a standard Model T and choose Britain’s tallest mountain – Ben Nevis – for the stunt. The 20 horsepower Model T was driven up Ben Nevis as a publicity stunt for Ford’s agent in Edinburgh.

So instead of giving the 458 Italia more power, they concentrated on making the 458 lighter and tighter to create the Ferrari 458 Challenge, unveiled this week in Bologna. The 458 Challenge gets exactly the same 562 horses out of its 4.5 litre V8 as the Italia.
